| I am a soil chemist with interest it the applications of basic principles of chemistry to problems in soil science. One particular area of interest is metal ion interactions with humic substances. Much of my recent work has been on topics related to environmental concerns. |

| IHSS has a collection of standard samples of humic and fulvic acids from lignite, fresh water, a mineral soil, and an organic soil. In addition, IHSS has reference samples that are a source of humic materials for research. |
