Michael Schmitt Professor

While still a tenured faculty member in the Department of Soil, Water, and Climate, I have shifted my primary duties to College administration. Since 2000, I have been Associate Dean in the College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences primarily responsible for Extension programs and personnel. I provide leadership to the development, facilitation, implementation, budget, evaluation, and reporting efforts for faculty within the College as well as the regional and county-based extension personnel throughout Minnesota. These efforts center on issue programming for numerous audiences, including agricultural producers and advisors, horticultural audiences, food processors, government agencies, and public citizens.
