Welcome!

  		• Although I have lived in Minnesota since I joined the department in 1987, I have lived in Maryland, Missouri, Florida, Iowa, Pennsylvania and California! I originally studied anthropology at Grinnell College, and became interested in agriculture and the environment when I spent a semester abroad in Costa Rica. My research and teaching focus is in the area of soil fertility and plant nutrition.
